Lifeline Consumers: Life line consumers refer to residential non-Time of Use (ToU) electricity consumers whose maximum consumption over the last twelve months and the current month is approximately 100 units. These consumers are eligible for two different rates based on their consumption levels: one rate for consumption up to ~50 units and another rate for consumption up to ~100 units. These rate structures will continue to be applicable to them.

GEPCO Quarterly Adjustments charges for issued notification on 13.04.2023 will be applicable from May 2023:
NEPRA, the regulatory authority for the electric power sector in Pakistan, has recently notified Category-wise rates of quarterly adjustments for the second quarter of Fiscal Year 2022-23 for Gujranwala Electric Supply Company (GEPCO). As per the decision, the variable charges per unit or per kilowatt-hour have been set at Rs. 1.98/Kwh.
This means that the next GEPCO bills for the months of April, May, and June 2023 will include an additional amount of Rs. 1.98 per unit in the head of quarterly adjustment charges. The complete decision of the authority regarding the periodic adjustment in tariff requests filed by XWDISCOs has already been communicated to the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) on April 12, 2023, and the recovery will be made in the aforementioned three months.
